FIFA Qatar report a sickening disgrace

Construction union UCATT have described FIFA’s report into the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups as a disgrace.

The report which has already been contradicted; clears Qatar of corruption but fails to examine the appalling plight of migrant construction workers who are being worked to death in the country.

Steve Murphy, General Secretary of UCATT, said; “This report stinks, FIFA bigwigs are slapping each other on the back stating there is no corruption while workers are dying in their hundreds and being forced to live in abject squalor in the richest country on earth. These people have no shame”

Mr Murphy added: “It is a disgrace and sickens me that FIFA has spent their entire time navel gazing and looking at their own bidding process, when the real issue is the terrible way in which migrant construction workers are being exploited in Qatar.”
