Soon after being elected in 2010 the Government announced that it was intent on reducing the cost of Civil Service pensions.
Their proposals would have led to Civil Servants paying more, working longer and receiving a smaller pension.
Following a ballot, UCATT along with many other unions held a one day strike on November 30 2011.
Due to the industrial action some of the Government’s proposals were withdrawn and amended.
UCATT members voted to accept the Government’s final Civil Service offer in a consultative ballot.
