A substantial number of UCATT members work in the public sector.
UCATT’s largest public sector membership is craftworkers working in local government, Arm’s Length Membership Organisations (ALMOs) and housing associations.
Many former local government workers who have been outsourced to a private company may still have elements of their pay and conditions linked to local government terms.
UCATT also has sizeable numbers of members in the NHS, the Prison Service and Historic Scotland.
