Construction union UCATT are calling on the Scottish Government to conduct an urgent independent pay audit for worker’s operating on the Forth Crossing in order to reassert confidence that workers are being treated fairly.
Labour MP for Jarrow, Stephen Hepburn, has tabled an Early Day Motion (EDM) calling on Crossrail to address a number of serious industrial relations issues including employee surveillance, workers not being paid, aggression towards trade unions and denial of access for union officials.
UCATT has written to the Mayor of London and the Government’s Information Commissioner to protest at the increasing intimidation of workers outside several Crossrail construction depots. UCATT has called on the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) to launch an immediate investigation.
