Fresh demonstrations planned in London after Living Wage blocked

Construction union UCATT are planning to hold a fresh wave of demonstrations, after employers blocked proposals to ensure that workers employed under the largest construction agreement receive the London Living Wage.

Lessons must be learned following Crossrail death

Construction union UCATT are calling on the construction industry to learn lessons from the death of Rene Tkacik who was killed on the Crossrail project.

Mr Tkacik was crushed to death by wet concrete on the 7th March 2014 while working for the Bam Ferrovial Kier joint venture on the Fisher Street tunnel near Holborn.
