Construction union UCATT have been forced to contact Leeds Council after a contractor on a flagship job cut the length of time workers were allowed for their breaks.

UCATT reaction following Birmingham fatal accident

Brian Rye, Acting General Secretary of construction union UCATT, has commentated on the fatal accident at a Birmingham recycling centre which has claimed the lives of five workers.

Mr Rye, said: “This is a tragic accident and our first thoughts most be with the family of the loved ones who have died in such tragic circumstances.”

HSE accused of burying bad news
